Pearl Players Help Alameda Food Bank

Chris Garrison (Western Nevada) Michael Kershner (University of Michigan) Eddie Sorondo (Delaware State University) organize food at the Alameda Food Bank
Neptune Beach Pearl players, coaches and front office staff spent Friday morning giving back to the community by helping out at the Alameda Food Bank Warehouse.

The Alameda Food Bank Warehouse is located on the old Naval Base at 650 W Ranger Ave.  This is the facility where all the food is examined, sorted through and orgainzed.

Pearl players worked for three hours on Friday morning and sorted and orgainzed roughly 20-30 Alameda Food Bank bins full of donated foods.

The volunteers who work regulary at the Food Bank were very grateful for all of the helping hands as it helped them catch up on a large amount of food that needed to be organized.

" I am glad I can help out in the community and make an impact" said Pearl outfielder Rob Moir (Boston College).  "The community has embraced all  the members of the team and the support is continuing to grow, giving a few hours of our time to help those in need is something we all enjoyed doing."

The Pearl are back in action tomorrow at Willie Stargell Field, with first pitch scheduled for 1pm.  Please come out and show your support!
