History

The Neptune Beach Pearl, a non-profit organization was founded in 2010 in Alameda, CA. It started as a youth summer camp (Diamond Skills Camp) in the summer 2010, and the foundation was set for the start of the summer-collegiate team in the summer of 2011. The Pearl organization was named after the historic Neptune Beach, an amusement park on the shore of the San Francisco Bay in the city of Alameda, California. The park was opened from 1917 until 1939 and was touted as the "Coney Island of the West." The park featured family fun with the beach, bay, an Olympic size swimming pool, roller coaster, carousel, and Ferris Wheel.

The Neptune Beach Pearl baseball organization, created by Dustin Chavez and Scott Tully, sought out to have a summer collegiate team, and through camps, clinics, travel ball teams, continued the long line of baseball success on the island. The Pearl have had seven players make the MLB, 23 drafted overall, and 40+ Alameda players participate in the program play at the next level. Since the inception, the Pearl has volunteered through board positions, coaching, organizing and running tryouts, for the Alameda Little League. The majority of the work has been starting and coaching every year since 2016 the Intermediate 50/70 division of Little League.
