August 7th, 2015

A date that will go down in Neptune Beach Pearl history as Kyle Barraclough (2011 Neptune Beach Pearl) was placed on the 25 man roster, called up to the big leagues by the Miami Marlins, and made his Major League Debut.  The Marlins are currently on the road taking on the Atlanta Braves.  Barraclough, a Right Handed Pitcher out of Saint Mary's College of California, was drafted in 2012 in the 7th round by the St. Louis Cardinals and was just traded to the Miami Marlins a few weeks ago for Former All-Star Pitcher Steve Cishek.

This marks the 1st former Neptune Beach Pearl player to reach the Major Leagues!

Barraclough pitched 31.2 innings over 11 appearances on the mound for the Pearl during the 2011 inaugural season.  He went 4-0 with 3 saves and posted a 1.44 ERA.  He also recorded 50 strikeouts and held opponents to a .189 batting average against him.

Upon joining the Marlins at Turner Field in Atlanta on Friday Barrclough said "It was shocking to me." when receiving the news he was making the jump from Double A Jacksonville to the Major Leagues.

Barraclough made his Major League Debut for the Marlins throwing a 1,2,3 Bottom of the 8th inning and struck out a batter.
