Each fall, Neptune Beach features seven age-division teams (see below) in each of two formats: Our local teams compete in Alameda; our travel teams compete on a high level throughout the Bay Area.
Each spring, we also field 13U and 14U travel teams.
Registration for 2023 fall leagues is now closed.
Local ball is ideal for multiple-sport athletes who have other seasonal commitments but want to continue to develop their baseball skills. Local teams have just one weekly practice and one weekly batting-cage session at the Pearl Factor. Over the course of a 12-week season, local teams typically play 10 games against other Pearl teams, and coaches share pointers with competing players -- giving local ballers the added benefit of being mentored by Pearl's entire lineup of accomplished coaches.
Travel ball requires a heightened commitment, time-wise and financially. In turn, those wearing the Pearl uniform will be exposed to more robust competition than they're likely to find playing for their Little League or school team. Traveling teams practice twice weekly in Alameda, plus a weekly batting-cage session. Over the course of the 12-week season, our travel teams compete in several tournaments in places like Fremont, Martinez, Manteca, Modesto, Turnlock and Sunnyvale -- with scheduled weekends off for the parents to recoup. Players must tryout to earn the limited roster spots on each age-division team.
The Neptune Beach Baseball program is bigger than the game of baseball. The coaches, players, parents and siblings become part of an extended family. The Pearl program prides itself on teaching players valuable life lessons, goals, and work ethic using the game of baseball as its platform. We know that parents value full-time coaches/role models who prioritize the well-being and development of their children, as players and young members of the community. Our coaches have a cumulative tens of thousands of hours of coaching experience, provide structure and make unbiased, non-parental decisions when it comes to playing time, positions and other baseball matters.
